SaMaPa Alaap Festival Kashmir 2016


SaMaPa (Sopori Academy of Music performing Arts) in collaboration with Divisional/District Administration, Department of Information and Public Relations, Department of Tourism Kashmir, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Radio Kashmir and Doordarshan Srinagar organised SaMaPa Alaap Festival 2016 at Delhi Public School Budgam.

On  this occasion, the great Santoor maestro, the living legend, Pandit Bhajan Sopori mesmerized the environment with his great music while the artists namely Mr Umar Mehraj and Mr Ishtiyaq Tulla   (recipient of 3rd rank in Thumri Singing, Semi- Classical music in North India in 2007) presented some captivating musical skills. On this special day, the Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Mr Mir Altaf was the chief guest while Mr Rafiq Masoodi, Retired Director Doordarshan, Dr Zahoor Ahmad, Assistant Commissioner Development Budgam, Ataf Mohammad, Information Officer, Ragini Rainu, the Sufi Singer, Mithlesh Kumar, Tabla player, Varun Rajashekharan, Ghuttam player, Praveen Sethi, Percussion player were among the dignitaries. Mr. Ishfaq Lone, announcer Radio Kashmir Srinagar completed the whole programme and the different schools of the valley were invited as the audience to this special event. The artists advised the students to adhere to their culture and bring the beauty of music in their life. Lastly, DC Budgam, Mr Mir Altaf, the Pro VC DPS Budgam, Mrs. Mumtazunnisa Soz and the Principal Mr. Mehfooz Aslam  felicitated the artists with mementos.
