Trekking is an adventure hobby that is pursued by most children who love nature. It can be considered as both a hobby and a sport. Taking up trekking as a hobby can offer both mental and health benefits to the children.
The aim of this Trekking was to teach children how to face the challenges of life like, how to be fit for their routine activities , be responsible and patient to develop tolerance.
A four day trekking for classes(1st to 5th)was organized by DPS, Budgam Junior Wing. About 1200 students participated in the trekking in four phases.
Class 5th (Dated: 20th April 2019)
This day began with a great enthusiasm when children reached the spot of trekking with their parents and got ready for trekking to Shankaracharya at 7:00am sharp. They were equipped with essential requirements needed for the trek. Though it was a difficult trek with elevated features and scenic beauty, but students were very excited and enjoyed a lot. The students were guided all along the trek by the staff and were also educated about the environment and its importance for the mankind. At the end children were escorted to their buses at 1:00pm and reached back to school at 2pm and were allowed to rest for about an hour before departure.
Class 4th (Dated: 22nd April 2019)
This day again began with a great vigour and energy when students of class 4th reached the destination assigned for the trekking and the event began at sharp 7:00am . The children were equipped with essential requirements needed for the trek and were educated about the purity of nature, creating the opportunities to explore nature and be part of it. Though it was a difficult trek, but students were very excited and enjoyed a lot. The students were guided by the staff all along the trek. The event concluded by 12:30 and by 1:00pm the children boarded the buses and reached the campus.
Class 1st & 2nd (Dated: 27th April 2019)
Class 3rd (Dated: 4th May 2019)
Children were very excited while they were getting assembled in the school ground. Then they left the campus at 9:00am in the school buses along with the teachers and reached the destination(Sharjah Ground ,Budgam ) .They started their trekking with great excitement. The students were guided all along the trek by the staff and were also educated about the environment and its importance for the mankind. The children enjoyed their lunch in two halves and that was really a beautiful moment for them. Children played and enjoyed the trek. By 2:00pm children reached back campus.
