Interactive Series with Distinguished Leaders and Young Professionals
Dear Parents,
We hope that you and your loved ones are staying safe during these challenging times.
As we continue to deal with the uncertain situation created by the Covid-19 pandemic, we are also constantly thinking of ways to promote the overall development of our students.
Over our interactions with parents and students over several years, I often observe that we restrict our children with career options that we are most familiar with.
However, I am sure you will agree that a lot has changed. A gamut of career options has emerged that not only provide financial security but also have a significant impact on the society.
For a fuller understanding of academics and career options, DPS Budgam takes great pride in announcing two initiatives that will help our children complement their school education with real life learning. The first initiative is the “Distinguished Speaker Series”, which will involve interactions between our students and accomplished leaders in various fields. The second initiative, “Young Professional Series”, will help our students learn from the experiences of relatively young professionals who are rising stars in their fields.
The first online program (duration 1 hour) under “Young Professional Series” via Google Meet is scheduled on 23rd of July, 2020 (Thursday) at 12:30pm. We have invited Mr. Prateek Kanwal to be our first speaker. He is a World Bank Scholar and international speaker, who has delivered keynotes and joined discussions on social sector reforms. He has done a Master in Public Policy (MPP) from the Harvard Kennedy School in the United States, completed his undergraduate studies in Finance and Accounting from NMIMS, Mumbai. He is currently the Head of Strategic Partnerships at Educate Girls – a non-profit organization that aims at tackling issues at the root cause of gender inequality in India’s education system. During session he will speak with our students about his academic and professional journey so far.
I am sure these initiatives will be extremely helpful to not only our students but also to our staff members, as our children learn to step outside their schools and their comfort zones.
I look forward to your cooperation, as always.
Sincerely,
Ms. Shobhna Sirohi,
Principal,
