CONDUCTS INTRA- SCHOOL VIRTUAL QUIZ
In its endeavour to inculcate the spirit of learning, reasoning and enriching knowledge , the school organised an Intra-School Virtual Quiz for the students of Class VI to XI. The theme for the Junior level (VI to VIII) was India’s Nature and Wildlife while for the Senior Level (IX to XI), it was India’s Science and Technology respectively.
The Quiz Contest was conducted to select the students to participate in the Virtual Inter- DPS Quiz Series at Zonal and National Levels respectively. It was purely an initiative to promote multi-layered and multi-format knowledge programme aimed at reaching deep and encouraging the students gauge and hone their knowledge and skills in a convivial and participatory atmosphere in the wake of the Global Covid Scenario.
It is worth to mention that in order to bring about transparency in the selection process and thereby allowing equal opportunity to all the students, the procedure was divided into two rounds. In the first round , a multiple choice test was conducted through google forms and the students were shortlisted on the basis of merit while the second and the final round of selection was the Quiz Contest. It was conducted in two phases separately for the Junior and the senior levels comprising four rounds each- , multiple choice, current affairs, visual and rapid fire. The meritorious participants of the first two rounds took part in the next two wherein Fozia Farooq ( 6th F) and Amber Agha ( 7th B) from the Junior level and Munazah Rizvi ( 10th D) and Furqan Parvez ( 11th Non-Med) from the Senior Level emerged as winners who will now be representing the school in Zonal and National levels of Inter- DPS Virtual Quiz series 2020.
The Pro-VC, Mrs Mumtaz un Nisa Soz, the Director, Mr Salmam Anees Soz and the Principal, Ms. Shobhna Sirohi who attended the online Quiz session congratulated the teachers and the students for their rigorous efforts. The Director urged the students to take active part in more and more of such co-curricular activities especially during the present scenario when very limited opportunities towards recreation and thinking out of the box are available. He chiefly appreciated the unimpeachable efforts of the teachers. The organisers and the participants thanked the Management and the Principal for their adoring support.
It was a very informative and knowledge enriching competition both for the participants and the audience. It is believed that this attempt will not only sustain the interest but also reinforce it at various levels to become more and more inclusive and efficacious.
