Entrepreneurship Development Programme at DPS Budgam

In a remarkable display of entrepreneurial acumen and academic initiative, the students at Delhi Public SchoolBudgam set up vibrant business stalls within their school premises. It was a threeday long fair that began on July 2,2024.The  stalls, conceptualized and managed entirely by the students , showcased a diverse array of products, ranging from handmade crafts to food and beverages. Thesession was formally inaugurated by the worthy Principal DPS Budgam and was organised under the guidance of dedicated commerce teachers Mr. Tarieq Mir, Ms. Iaman and Ms. Zainab. with the support of the school administration, the young entrepreneurs  transformed their classroom knowledge into practical experience. The initiative not only aimed to supplement traditional education with hands-on learning but also encouraged students to explore their creativity, hone their business skills, and gain the dynamics of the marketplace first-hand experience.

The initiative  garnered enthusiastic support from parents, who viewed it as a unique opportunity for their children to gain practical exposure to commerce and entrepreneurship.

Beyond the educational benefits, the project  also contributed to the school’s community spirit. It served as a platform for students to engage with peers, teachers, and visitors, fostering a sense of pride and camaraderie within the school community.

The first day of the fair began with the commerce students setting up their respective stalls with the due support from the school. Later on, the students were seen doing brisk business. The  stalls were the centre of attraction and gained  a lot of attention and curiosity from the students, parents and the faculty. Following the success of the first day operations, the second day of the event witnessed an influx in the curiosity level of the students. The programme helped to boost the morale of the students by providing a platform for skill development. Moreover it exemplified innovation and entrepreneurship in education.

 By empowering students to take charge of their learning and apply classroom knowledge in practical ways, DPS continues to nurture future leaders and innovators who are well-equipped to make a meaningful impact in the world.
