“A woman’s voice is her greatest power; never let the world silence it.”
March 8 is globally celebrated as International Women’s Day, a time to reflect on the status, achievements, rights, and contributions of women in both public and private spheres. This day serves as a tribute to the indomitable spirit of women and aims to raise awareness about gender equality for a healthier and more inclusive society.
To honor womanhood, DPS Budgam celebrated International Women’s Day on March 15, 2025, in the school auditorium. The event commenced with the morning assembly, followed by a heartfelt tribute to Ms. Sartaj Kounsar, one of the school’s frontline teachers, for her unwavering dedication and invaluable contributions in shaping the lives of countless children throughout her tenure.
The day resonated with inspiring speeches and musical compositions by students, emphasizing gender equality and the importance of educating the girl child. Students also commemorated legendary figures like Mother Teresa, Rani Lakshmibai (Jhansi Ki Rani), and Mirabai, enlightening the audience with their stories of exceptional courage and unwavering mission.
Dr. D. Samuel Seelan, Principal of DPS Budgam, highlighted the significance of self-belief and resilience in realizing one’s full potential. He encouraged students to support and uplift one another, fostering a culture of collaboration and empowerment.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by the principal, after which students resumed their routine classes, carrying forward the message of strength, unity, and empowerment.
