Recognizing the vital role of trees in sustaining life and the urgent need for their conservation, Delhi Public School Budgam commemorated World Arbor Day with great enthusiasm on April 17, 2025. The occasion featured a thoughtfully organized plantation drive followed by a special assembly, both designed to instil environmental awareness and responsibility in students.
The day commenced with a vibrant plantation activity, led by Pro Vice-Chairperson Ms. Mumtazunissa Soz, Principal Dr. D. Samuel Seelan, and Dean Mr. Mehfooz Aslam, accompanied by senior and junior school coordinators. Students from both wings of the school took active part, joyfully planting saplings across the campus. Their hands-on involvement reflected a deep sense of commitment towards building a greener, healthier planet.
Following the plantation drive, a special assembly was conducted, featuring impactful speeches, a heartfelt poem recitation, and an engaging facts presentation. Each segment underscored the indispensable role of trees in maintaining ecological balance and the urgency of environmental stewardship.
The event culminated in an inspiring address by special guest Dr. Tariq, who shared insightful reflections on the power of small, meaningful actions in protecting our planet. His words left a lasting impression on both students and staff alike.
The Arbor Day celebration at DPS Budgam was not just a tribute to nature—it was a reaffirmation of the school’s dedication to nurturing responsible global citizens who understand that planting a tree today paves the way for a brighter tomorrow.
