DPS Budgam took a significant step towards fostering a collaborative learning environment by hosting an insightful Orientation Programme for parents of LKG and Nursery students on March 11-12, 2026. The event marked the beginning of a fruitful partnership between parents and the school, aimed at nurturing young minds. The programme was graced by the presence of Pro VC Madam, Mrs. Mumtaz-u-Nisa Soz, Principal Mrs. Glory George, Junior School In-Charge Ms. Tanveer Joo, and Dean Co-curricular Activities, Mr. Mehfooz Aslam.

The programme commenced with a warm welcome address, followed by Principal Mrs. Glory George’s inspiring speech, which highlighted the school’s motto “Service Before Self” and shed light on DPS Budgam’s vision and mission. She elaborated on the school’s core values, including Learner Centred Approach, Excellence in Academics & Co-curricular Activities, Accountability & Ownership, and Discipline & Dedication. Her words set the tone for the engaging sessions that followed.

Pro VC Madam, Mrs. Mumtaz-u-Nisa Soz, assured parents that the safety of children is the school’s top priority, promising a collaborative effort towards their well-being. She emphasized the importance of teamwork between parents and the school in shaping the future of the students.

A comprehensive PPT presentation walked parents through various school processes, including daily schedules, transport facilities, evaluation systems, teaching methodologies, and opportunities for parental involvement. The session also facilitated introductions to class teachers, ensuring parents knew who to reach out to for their child’s needs. Additionally, parents were informed about the school’s policies and procedures, aiming to keep them informed and involved.

A crucial aspect of the orientation was creating awareness about good and bad touch, reinforced with a thought-provoking video. This initiative underscored the school’s commitment to students’ safety and well-being, providing parents with valuable insights on how to talk to their children about this important issue.

The programme culminated with an interactive Q&A session, where parents freely shared their queries and concerns. The school’s team addressed each question, providing clarity and reassurance. Junior School Incharge, Ms. Tanveer Joo, delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks, assuring parents of the school’s dedication to providing a secure and nurturing environment.
