Capacity Building Programme on POCSO Act Held at DPS Budgam

Delhi Public School, Budgam hosted a Capacity Building Programme on the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act for its teaching staff, led by Principal Ms. Glory George. The session aimed to deepen educators’ understanding of child-protection law and reinforce their role in creating a safe, respectful, and supportive school environment.

Through an interactive and informative workshop, teachers learned to recognise signs of vulnerability, maintain professional boundaries, and follow mandated reporting procedures. Emphasis was placed on sensitive, timely responses and the collective responsibility of the school community to safeguard every child’s dignity, wellbeing, and rights.

This professional development initiative strengthened staff awareness and practical readiness to prevent and address child safety concerns. The programme concluded with a renewed pledge from the teaching fraternity to remain vigilant, responsible, and child-centred in all actions, in keeping with the POCSO Act.
