SKUAST Lab Lectures For the Students of Class 12th

The Department of Science under the supervision of Mr Tariq Teli, HOD Chemistry DPS Budgam organised an educational tour to SKUAST for the students of class 12th on April 19, 2023.The motive was to provide a first hand information about Biotechnological work being done in the labs of the department.
It helped the students in insightful learning and added a new potential in the realm of science based education. They visited the different labs and received lectures from the experts regarding their work.

Proteomix Lab contained genotypes of under-utilised plants and their functions and advantages.

Cell Culture Lab had live cells which were studied for Cancer causing substances and their prevention via development of anti cancerous foods.

Tissue Culture Lab contained a media for lab development of plants and their off season production.

Overall, the students gained immense knowledge about the biotech field and the avenues they can discover there.
