Trekking (Class 9th & 10th)
Variety adds spice to life and monotony makes us lazy.
Can there be anything more spicy than a walk in the wilderness with friends by our side? The wait for the annual trekking for students of 9 and 10 was over on 15 June when the school organized a wonderful trek in the Himalayan range for them. Children had come all prepared with bags full of eatables, beverages, trekking suits, and a lot of expectations. Nature did not play the spoiler as it was a perfect day for hiking.
The trek started from Doodpather base up to Dood Ganga. It was a pleasant day with a lot of sunshine and a beautiful blend of cool breezes. It took us around three hours to reach our destination with a completely different type of trekkers. Some did not want to stop on the way and some did not want to move an inch. Some wanted to spend the entire day under the chosen tree with their friends and empty their bags. It took a good deal of motivational speeches and whistling to make them go.
Once the students reached the spot and filled their stomachs with energy drinks and healthy snacks, they were all running and playing. Horse riding was the main attraction among the students. Almost everyone had a ride except a few who preferred a mountain bike ride.
Girls also had a never before experience with their all girls team. They felt free to do whatever they wanted with their female teachers around. The track was of course shorter than that of the boys, but there was no curtailment in fun and joy. They had a kind of pool party where they played water fights and had a cool dip in a clear cool stream.
At around 7 pm we all reached back to school completely exhausted but with loads of memories.
It was a memorable day and we enjoyed every moment of it.
