Solo Singing Competition

Music is the piece of art that goes in the ears straight to the heart……

Music contests are a means of discovering talents and promoting musical abilities. It helps students expand their minds and increase their self-confidence. To bring out the singing talent of the students, a Solo Song Competition was organized by Junior School-DPS Budgam on 15th September, 2022 for the students of Class 4th. Two students from each section were selected for the competition. The competition was judged by Ms Tanveer Joo-Junior School Incharge and Mr. Istiyaq Tulla-HOD Music Department. The participants were judged on their melody, rhythm, pronunciation and clarity of words. The children sang songs passionately in Hindi as well as in their mother tongue-Kashmiri. The audience thoroughly enjoyed the melodious performances. All the participants were awarded participation certificates. Peerzada Haziq from 4th A bagged the first position for his excellent performance. Rahat Nabi from 4th E acquired the second position. The two participants Khatija Mudasir from 4th D and Mir Ahmad Kant from 4th E bagged the third position. Mr. Istiyaq Tulla lauded the singing talent of the students and advocated that music has great power, rhythm and soul.It helps one to express something that is beyond words. Singing is important because it builds self-confidence, promotes self-esteem, always engages the emotions, promotes social inclusion and supports social skill development.
