Orientation – A Walkthrough of School Processes

A parent is a teacher at home and a teacher is a parent in school and the child is the centre of our universe… .

Orientation is a nurturing way to get a child ready for starting school and familiarise parents with the school environment. The school organized an Orientation Programme for the new set of parents of Class Nursery and LKG on 16th April,2024 to get them acquainted with the curriculum, rules and regulations of the school. The programme commenced with the welcome address by Mr. Mehfooz Aslam to the newly appointed Principal – Dr Samuel Seelan and parents. It was a productive session with an aspiration to stride towards a strong partnership between parents community and the school. Parents were familiarised with the vision, mission and various policies of the school which aims to nurture children so as to craft a strong footing for their glorious future.
A presentation was also run to apprise the parents of the objectives and the philosophy of the school. During the session parents learned about each aspect of the school and how they can work in partnership with the school to cater for their child’s well being. Rules provide a sense of consistency for children promoting physical and emotional safety. So parents were specified about certain School, Transport, Attendance and Assessment Rules. Teaching Methodologies of the school were also explained to the parents as our teaching methodologies are supportive, nurturing, child – friendly and activity-based. Children in DPS Budgam learn through fun and engaging activities transforming playtime into opportunities to install important cognitive skills, motor skills and social skills.
The session concluded by an overview of the school’s positive behaviour for learning practices and an overall development.
